Does tooth removal hurt?

Dental pain is not a given in any scenario. The amount of pain you feel will be dictated by the amount of anesthetic that you receive before the procedure. Your Hellertown, PA dentist, Dr. Hunsicker-Morrissey, knows that you are not going to have the same level of pain tolerance as another patient. That is why we are careful to tailor the dosage to the individual. Your comfort is our primary concern when you are here with us. Additionally, our skilled team has a great deal of experience in this procedure, so you will be in good hands with us.

What kinds of tooth removal does Hellertown Dental do?

Hellertown Dental Group does all kinds of tooth removal. The only kind we may not do is impacted wisdom teeth. Those can be complicated procedures, and we want to make sure that you get the very best care possible. That is why we often refer those complicated cases out to one our trusted local specialists. As for any other type of tooth extraction, including regular wisdom teeth extractions, we are equipped and able to perform those in our Hellertown, PA dentist office. No need to go to a separate location for the procedure; we do it all in-house.

What is a sinus lift?

The value of this procedure to many patients missing teeth cannot be overstated. After a person loses their teeth, the bone in their jaw will begin to deteriorate. This procedure will help to rebuild that lost bone structure.

First, your Hellertown, PA dentist, Dr. Hunsicker-Morrissey will “lift” a portion of your upper jawbone into your sinus cavity. The space left by the lifted bone is then filled with bone graft material to stimulate new bone growth in the area. This is exceedingly helpful to patients who do not have enough bone mass in their upper jaw to be able to support dental implants. The new bone growth will give them the bone mass they need to remake their smile.

What Are My Tooth Replacement Options?

There are three main options when it comes to replacing a missing tooth. The first option is a dental implant. These are great because they offer the same kind of stability and function as a real tooth. They also protect against bone deterioration, which is a real danger after losing a tooth. A dental bridge is another option. Bridges are less expensive than dental implants but require the placement of crowns. This means we will need to shave down some of your still-healthy teeth to accommodate the crowns. Dentures are a tried-and-true way to replace several missing teeth and can even be secured with implants.

Our dentists are experts in the field of Dentistry. Their affiliations with dental organizations keep them up-to-date with the latest knowledge in Dentistry. One of Dr. Hunsicker-Morrissey’s affiliation is the American Association of Women Dentists.
